The Oregon Coast Community College Board of Education is seeking a highly qualified candidate with a proven record of successful experience as an educational leader and community college administrator with accreditation experience to serve as president.
Located in Newport, Oregon, Oregon Coast Community College is the higher education center serving Lincoln County with a population of 45,000. Oregon Coast Community College operates from it main campus in Newport, with a north county center in Lincoln City and a south county center in Waldport. All of the buildings have been built since 2008 with the support of a bond measure that was passed by the voters in Lincoln County in 2004.
Oregon Coast Community College delivers college credit instruction, certificates and degrees through a contract with Clatsop Community College, which is accredited through the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities. Oregon Coast Community College is a comprehensive college with lower division transfer credit offerings, career technical, small business development, adult basic skills and community education courses and programs. The Board of Education has recently passed a resolution to begin the process and application for candidacy for independent accreditation.
Oregon Coast Community College has a general fund budget of $4.1 million and a total budget of approximately $7.9 million. They employ 40 full time staff that includes 10 full time faculty. In addition, they have approximately 50 adjunct faculty. Approximately 2000 individuals enrolled at Oregon Coast Community College last year with an annual full time equivalent of about 500. The college has a positive relationship with the community and a college foundation with a history of success.
