Brookings-Harbor School District is seeking a leader with an outstanding record in the field of education to serve as superintendent. The successful candidate will join staff, students, parents, and community as an integral partner to develop, communicate, and strategically implement comprehensive learning opportunities that ensure excellence in education for all students. The School Board anticipates a beginning base salary range from $115,000 to $125,000 plus benefits. 

  • Approximately 1630 students
  • Schools: 
    • One K-5 elementary school 
    • One 6-8 middle school 
    • One 9-12 high school

The district provides educational services to diverse populations and geographic attendance areas. Kalmiopsis Elementary (or K-School) has approximately 700 students; Azalea Middle School has approximately 385 students; and Brookings-Harbor High School has approximately 545 students. In 2013-14, there were also 33 students across elementary, middle, and high school levels served in an online virtual program. High school students have the opportunity to participate in “Beyond BHHS,” an advanced diploma program in partnership with Southwestern Community College. The district mission statement is the following: “The Brooking- Harbor District Board 17C Board Members, in partnership with parents, staff, and community will cultivate a highly effective learning environment where every student can succeed.” Technology needs are a priority and the district recently installed 250 computers and wireless throughout the district. The school district is located in Brookings-Harbor, a coastal community in the southwestern corner of Oregon. The area has been called “the pulse of America's Wild Rivers Coast,” and enjoys a unique, moderate climate filled with year round sunny days and warm "short sleeve" weather. Recreational and cultural opportunities includes fishing, surfing, hiking, camping, golf, a vibrant art scene, and musical events. The city boasts a friendly small town atmosphere and a walkable town and port.
