Ideas to involve business and community leaders in back to school week
Involving business and community leaders in your schools is important. Here are some ideas to increase their participation.
Invite your local Rotary Club, Kiwanis or Chamber of Commerce to hold their weekly lunch at one of your schools. Have club members visit a classroom, a science or computer lab. Find out which activities interest them most.
Invite your area neighborhood association for a visit. Feature some of your after-school or volunteer tutoring activities.
Invite business owners in the community to visit classrooms and talk with students about what they are looking for in young employees. Have them talk about how their businesses have changed or are likely to change.
Hold a "Career Day" when your guests can also visit a classroom
