Board training

Most board members are serving in their first elected position and have little or no experience in public office. The chair should encourage board members to take advantage of professional development wherever possible.
OSBA encourages boards to set up a training process for new board members. During the training session, provide them with materials, answer questions and help prepare them to face the myriad issues that boards face.
