Do you have any information on the Dream (Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors) Act and what information school districts will be asked to provide and suggested protocols for this process?

The Dream Act is a federal law which established a process which allowed individuals who arrived in the United States as children and were undocumented residents to obtain permanent residency in the United States.  There are no specific obligations for K-14 educational institutions, the main impact will be records requests from individuals wishing to apply for permanent residency.  As with any records request Districts should comply with applicable Board policies as well as federal & state student records laws.
