Is the board required to approve all extra-duty contracts?

The board is not required by statute to approve extra-duty contracts. Regardless of whether those contracts are with current licensed staff, classified staff, or other non-staff members.  Some districts choose to have the board approve extra-duty contracts, but it is not required by law.
