Imbler School District Board of Directors is seeking an educational leader to serve as Superintendent/Principal to oversee the operations of their District beginning with the 2021-2022 school year.The principalship will be determined once successful candidate is selected.Currently, there are 286 students enrolled in Kindergarten through twelfth grade, with many of them coming from neighboring districts.Imbler has an excellent record both academically and in extra-curricular activities.The school has one of the strongest FFA programs in Oregon along with a highly-acclaimed FBLA program.Imbler is consistently recognized for its high test scores.
About the Community
Imbler School District is located below picturesque Mt. Harris in the Grande Ronde Valley in northeastern Oregon.Serving the communities of Imbler and Summerville, the district campus in Imbler is approximately 12 miles northeast of La Grande, Oregon and 8 miles southwest of Elgin, Oregon.Imbler is an agriculturally-based community.While the agriculture is diverse, the community proudly calls itself the "grass seed capital of the world."Eastern Oregon is a mecca for those interested in the outdoors.Hunting, fishing, hiking, biking and other sports abound in the area.Wallowa Lake, considered the Switzerland of America, is located to the east, as is the Eagle Cap Wilderness.At the same time, the presence of Eastern Oregon University in La Grande offers a number of cultural and educational activities.In addition, there is an Opera House in neighboring Elgin that is well-known in the area for their musical productions.

Has an open, collaborative leadership style with a willingness to listen but is also self-confident and capable of making and standing behind hard decisions when necessary.
Demonstrates personal characteristics such as integrity, honesty, a sense of humor, and a heart for children.
Possesses sound financial management skills, with the ability to effectively communicate fiscal issues to the Board, staff and community.
Has a willingness to be highly-visible in the community, in the classrooms and at school events.
Willing and able to commit to at least three to five years to the district.
A competitive salary is offered in the $101,000-$105,000 range plus an attractive benefits package including district-paid PERS contribution.A contract of up to three years is negotiable.
