Notice of Open Administrative Position
Position: Interim Superintendent
The Glide School District Board of Directors is seeking a highly qualified candidate with visionary leadership skills and successful experience in education administration to serve as interim superintendent. The successful candidate must have experience as an administrator, excellent communication skills, unquestionable integrity and be willing to be involved in the community.
The Glide School District is comprised of approximately 682 students in grades K - 12. District schools include one elementary, one middle and one high school. The district employs a staff of 47 licensed employees, 53 classified employees, seven confidential employees and five administrators. The district has a general fund budget of approximately $10.8 million.

- Puts kids first; is committed to serving all kids K-12;
- Culturally competent; ability to collaboratively lead a diverse school district;
- Strong understanding of school law issues and ability to manage them proactively;
- Effective communication and listening skills;
- Is personable/approachable while keeping an open mind;
- Decisiveness based on active listening, multiple points of view, and best available information and a practice of sharing the reasons for decisions when possible (transparency);
- Willing to become a meaningful and contributing member of our community within and outside of the school system;
- Background in teaching and building administration preferably in small rural areas similar to the Glide community;
- Understands Oregon school finance management, demonstrates sound fiscal management and strong budgeting skills;
- Emotional intelligence and aptitude to lead, shape and motivate staff and others toward a common vision.
Located along the scenic North Umpqua River and in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains, Glide is a small town, approximately 20 minutes east of Roseburg. The district encompasses 1,264 square miles, extending from Roseburg to Diamond Lake. Outdoor recreational activities include hunting, kayaking, rafting, fishing, hiking and biking.

The board will offer a competitive compensation package to the successful candidate, the salary range is $110,000 – 125,000. The successful candidate must hold or qualify for an Oregon superintendent's license and provide proof of compliance with OAR 333-019-1030 (COVID-19 Vaccination Requirements for Teachers and School Staff).
