Notice of Open Administrative Position

Position: Interim Superintendent 

The Pleasant Hill School District Board of Directors is seeking a highly qualified candidate with visionary leadership skills and successful experience in education administration to serve as interim superintendent. The successful candidate must have experience as an administrator, excellent communication skills, unquestionable integrity and be willing to be involved in the community.

The Pleasant Hill School District is comprised of approximately 1,000 students in grades K - 12. District schools include one elementary, one middle and one high school. The district employs a staff of 64 licensed/confidential employees, 46 classified employees, and 10 administrators/managers. The district has a general fund budget of approximately $15.9 million.

The Qualities and Qualifications of the position:

• A personable/approachable person with a high degree of integrity/honesty with strong values that are consistent with our community/school district; 
• Puts kids first; is committed to serving all kids K-12;
• Success in leadership roles with staff, community and professional peers; 
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing;
• Scholarship, intelligence and excellent ability to plan and organize;
• Training, experience and success in personnel selection, evaluation and development; 
• Knowledge of curriculum development, implementation and evaluation;
• Knowledge of business and support service systems which facilitate planning, control and accountability;
• Experience in administering collective bargaining agreements;
• Ability to motivate other administrators/staff and significantly involve them in the decision-making process;
• Strong management skills and the desire and ability to motivate and innovate, taking advantage of the district’s strengths.

The Pleasant Hill School District serves the three communities of Pleasant Hill, Dexter, and Jasper, including around 7,000 residents. It is located along the Willamette Highway 58, approximately 15 minutes southeast of Eugene, Lane County’s largest city and home of the University of Oregon. Many of the district’s residents commute to work in the nearby communities of Eugene and Springfield for a wide variety of professions. The district encompasses 113 square miles of countryside which consists of rolling hills, and two major rivers – the middle and coastal forks of the Willamette River – run through the area.

The board will offer a competitive compensation package to the successful candidate based on experience and a proven track record. The successful candidate must hold or qualify for an Oregon superintendent's license and provide proof of compliance with OAR 333-019-1030 (COVID-19 Vaccination Requirements for Teachers and School Staff).
