Notice of Open Administrative Position
Position: Superintendent / Principal
The Camas Valley School District Board of Directors is seeking a highly qualified candidate with visionary leadership skills and successful experience in education administration to serve as superintendent/principal. The successful candidate must have experience as an administrator, excellent communication skills, unquestionable integrity and be willing to be involved in the community.
The successful candidate must exhibit the following qualities and qualifications:

Demonstrated knowledge of and/or charter school experienced preferred

Background in teaching and building administration at multiple levels; preferably in small rural communities

Outstanding budget and finance skills; strong knowledge of federal program requirements and compliance with Oregon law

Knowledge of the school improvement process and data-driven decision-making skills

Demonstrated ability to make tough decisions when necessary and effectively communicate the reasons (transparency)

Ability to build strong, effective community partnerships that impact student success

Open-minded collaborator, consensus-building, empowering proactive leadership

Visibility in our school and community
Camas Valley is a rural community, of roughly 1,000 citizens, nestled in the beautiful coastal mountains of Douglas County. The town boasts a post office, three churches, one convenience market/gas station and one restaurant. It is just over an hour from the scenic Oregon coast and only two hours from Diamond Lake and Crater Lake. The county center, Roseburg, is only 25 miles away and provides a vast array of commercial, shopping, and medical options.
The Camas Valley School District has a general operating fund of approximately $3,800,000. They have 16.5 licensed staff, 12 classified staff, 2 confidential staff and 2 administration staff. The district became a charter district in 2004, with five buildings on one campus and an average of 215 students.

The board will offer a competitive compensation package to the successful candidate, the salary range is $90,000 to $105,000. The successful candidate must hold or qualify for an Oregon superintendent's license.
