Salary range: $100,000 to $115,000 (DOE) plus benefits

About the Position
The Arco Iris Spanish Immersion Charter School is seeking applicants for the Executive Director position. The Arco Iris School Executive Director is responsible for the successful operation and management of the school, including curriculum, instruction, staff, budget, physical facilities, public relations and the safety and welfare of the students and staff. The Executive Director leads and inspires the entire school community to engage students in achieving their fullest potential. This is accomplished through implementation of the school charter; through development of school improvement plans; through building coordination; and through supervision of instruction, student services, personnel management, community collaboration, and business/financial management. The school Executive Director supports the teachers in developing students into responsible, bilingual, bi-literate and multi-culturally competent members of the community.
Goals:
• Lead staff development and facilitate an environment where students become responsible, bilingual-bi-literate and multi-culturally competent members of the community.
• Support school goals as determined by the Arco Iris Spanish Immersion School and its Board of Directors including, but not limited to: committees, facility needs, fundraising, external relations, etc.
About the School
Arco Iris Spanish Immersion School is a Kindergarten through 8th grade public charter school in Beaverton, Oregon, featuring Spanish immersion and Singapore Math. The School is the first charter school in the Beaverton School District founded in 2010 by several parents and educators in who were passionate about their children receiving a rigorous academic education that included a second language. Arco Iris School is a one-way Spanish Immersion school with a mission focused on bilingual language achievement, a rigorous mathematics program and a multicultural community that will improve outcomes for all students, including those who are historically and educationally underserved. Studying a second language increases the student’s cognitive flexibility, the ability to mentally shuffle material, significantly improving problem solving abilities, and also leads to greater understanding of the world we live in. Students also have daily English class and with the double emphasis on language arts. The students usually score in the top 10% in the state every year. Teaching young learners about different cultures fosters tolerance and diversity, giving them a wider perspective on the world, appreciation, and respect for the differences in everyone. The School was recently ranked #2 for Best Charter Elementary & Middle School in Oregon, #34 in for Best Elementary schools in Oregon and #13 Best Middle School in Oregon.

Minimum Job Requirements
The Board requires the Executive Director be a strong educational leader who has the following professional experience and training:
• Master's degree in the field of education;
• Five years of teaching experience;
• Three years of administrative experience (preferred);
• Current Oregon administrator license; eligibility to obtain one; or eligibility to obtain Charter School Registry Administrator Certificate

Minimum Requirements:
