Monday

3 p.m.: The House Education Committee will hold an informational hearing on:

  • School district budgets.

3 p.m.: The House Education Committee will hold a work session on:

  • Recording school district boundaries (SB 271). 
  • Establishing a School Safety Construction Fund (HB 2257). 
  • Appropriating money for career and technical education (HB 2175). 

3 p.m.: The House Education Committee will hold a public hearing on:

  • Requiring school districts to file information about money received from the State School Fund (HB 2710). 

 

Tuesday

3 p.m.: The Senate Education Committee will hold a work session on:

  • Modifying abbreviated school day requirements (SB 819). 
  • Limiting public charter schools operating outside their sponsoring district (SB 767). 
  • Updating the Quality Education Model (SB 281).  
  • Exempting school board members from filing a statement of economic interest (SB 292). 

3 p.m.: The Senate Education Committee will hold a public hearing on:

  • Establishing a youth advisory council (SB 421). 
  • Requiring students to complete one credit of future planning (SB 3). 
  • Increasing grants for school district facilities (SB 285). 

 

Wednesday

3 p.m.: The House Education Committee will hold a public hearing on:

  • Appropriating money for recruiting, training and retaining educators (HB 3177). 
  • Expanding criteria for awarding scholarships to diverse teacher candidates (HB 3178). 

 

Thursday

8:30 a.m.: The House Revenue Committee will hold an informational meeting on:

  • Exempting receipts from precious metals sales from the corporate activity tax (HB3192).

The House will vote on:

  • Requiring Student Investment Account applications to consider advisory group recommendations (HB  2275). 

3 p.m.: The Senate Education Committee will hold a work session on:

  • Establishing a Purple Star School Program to recognize schools that provide support services to military-connected students (SB 183). 

3 p.m.: The Senate Education Committee will hold a public hearing on:

  • Requiring apprentices with school district contracts (SB 518).
