Monday

(Slow progress in the House means bills scheduled for Monday likely will be pushed to later in the week.)

11 a.m.: The House will vote on:

  • Changing the name of the Oregon Virtual School District to Oregon Digital Learning (HB 2022B).
  • Clarifying authorities governing the Office of Community Colleges and Workforce Development (HB 2030B).
  • Including mental or behavioral health among excused absences (HB 2191A).
  • Requiring a teacher on the State Board of Education (HB 2512A).
  • Paying unemployment insurance to nonprofessional employees of educational institutions during school breaks (HB 2660B).
  • Requiring organizations that provide interscholastic activities to have behavior policies (HB 3409A).
  • Permitting community colleges to offer baccalaureate degrees (SB 3).
  • Adjusting statutory listing of education service districts (SB 151).
  • Modifying rules for the restraint of students (SB 963).
  • Charging resident tuition for Native Americans and Alaska Natives who graduated from an Oregon high school (SB 312).
  • Providing abbreviated school day for foster youth students (SB 475A).

Tuesday

TBD: The House will vote on:

  • Requiring Holocaust and genocide instruction in schools (SB 664A).
  • Prohibiting restricting access to certain curriculum areas (SB 496A).
  • Repealing sunset on Interstate Compact on Educational Opportunity for Military Children (SB 690A).
  • Residency for military children (SB 802).

8:30 a.m.: The Joint Ways and Means Education Subcommittee will hold an informational meeting on:

  • Educator Advancement Council.

Wednesday

1 p.m.: The Senate Education Committee will hold an informational meeting on:

  • Update on federal education issues from U.S. Rep. Suzanne Bonamici.
  • Diversity, equity and inclusion in Oregon Public Schools.
