Legislators talk with students during Lobby Day

Friday, February 22, 2019

More than 25 school board members, students, teachers and administrators attended our Lobby Day on Tuesday, Feb. 19, in the Capitol. Representatives from Nestucca Valley, Klamath County and Clatskanie schools showed their dedication to public education.

We were honored to have more than a dozen students, who received a warm welcome from the co-chairs of the Joint Committee on Student Success: Rep. Barbara Smith Warner, D-Portland, and Sen. Arnie Roblan, D-Coos Bay.

On Tuesday, we have invited advocates from Washington, Yamhill and Polk counties to meet with legislators and speak up for students.

Our team also hosted a town hall in Washington County on Tuesday, Feb. 20, that featured Rep. Janeen Sollman, D-Hillsboro, and included school board members from the Hillsboro, Beaverton and Tigard-Tualatin school districts.

We will be holding our next town hall on Saturday, March 2, in Coos Bay.

Thank you to our members for their support in making these events successful.
