Advocacy campaign amplifies call for education funding
Friday, January 25, 2019
We have officially launched our advocacy campaign for school funding: Oregonians for Student Success.
If you haven’t had a chance, check out the new website and sign up for updates about the campaign. Our digital outreach program is already reaching thousands of Oregonians to get them engaged in our campaign and help them raise their voices in support.
The online work complements our series of town halls across the state. We have already hosted two great events, first in Pendleton on Jan. 7 and then in Salem on Jan. 23.
The Salem meeting was attended by Reps. Paul Evans, D-Monmouth, and Teresa Alonso León, D-Woodburn, as well as OSBA Board President Tass Morrison (North Santiam School District) and OSBA Board member Melissa LaCrosse (Jefferson School District).
Finally, we will be kicking off our advocacy days in the Capitol starting on Feb. 12. We are excited to bring OSBA members, parents and other advocates to Salem to talk with legislators and underscore the importance of enacting revenue reform this session.
