Thirty-six school board members receive leadership awards

Congratulations to the thirty-six school board members who received board leadership awards at the Oregon School Boards Association’s annual convention on November 11. The awards, offered through OSBA’s Leadership Institute, represent a significant level of achievement in board leadership and development. The institute offers four levels of awards for individual school board members, recognizing completion of specific OSBA board leadership courses. Platinum level award
Kris Howatt, Gresham-Barlow School Board member, received a Platinum board leadership award at the convention. This award represents the highest level of achievement for individual board members. Howatt has served as OSBA president-elect this past year; she will take office as OSBA president on January 1, 2012.
