2018 TELL Oregon Survey

Thursday, December 14, 2017

Oregon’s Teaching, Empowering, Leading and Learning (TELL) Survey will be administered in 2018. I serve on the TELL Advisory Committee and am writing to encourage your leadership in making the survey a success for our educators, schools, and most importantly, our students.

The survey, which launches on February 1, 2018, allows educator input to advance policy and practices that drive higher school achievement. The attached letter from Governor Brown will be sent to every principal in your district to share with educators in their buildings, along with timelines and tips.

Information for school boards is also attached, with tips on how you can prepare, encourage participation, and use the information; timelines; contacts; and links to TELL survey resources.

Your leadership and encouragement can help ensure that all of your schools meet the 50 percent participation threshold, which will allow you and your schools to view the results and learn from their school-specific data this spring.

Thank you for your commitment to public education, and for all that you do for the students of Oregon.

Happy holidays,

Betty Reynolds, Ph.D.
President, Oregon School Boards Association
