Comment sought on Oregon ESSA plan changes

The Oregon Department of Education is seeking comment on proposed amendments to the state’s Every Student Succeeds Act plan.

The 2015 federal education law requires comprehensive state plans. The amendments would make permanent changes related to the law’s accountability and school improvement provisions as well as some technical adjustments to meet federal requirements.

ODE has prepared a copy of Oregon’s plans showing the proposed changes. ODE will be taking public comments until March 31.
