Grants available for substitute teachers and instructional assistants

The Oregon Legislature has provided $19.5 million to reimburse substitute teachers and instructional assistants for required training costs. The Oregon Department of Education will distribute the money through school districts and education service districts.
Districts have until Dec. 1 to apply. ODE needs the applications before it can decide each district’s share of the funds.
