Oregon revises guidances for schools without masks, promises more updates

The Oregon Department of Education updated guidances Wednesday to help schools prepare for the end of the school masking mandate on Saturday, March 12. 

New versions of “Planning for COVID-19 Scenarios in Schools,” “Communicable Disease Guidance for Schools” and the “Exclusion Summary Guide” align with optional masking and the pause of contact tracing and quarantining.  

ODE says it will release additional communication tools, templates and other materials on Friday, March 11. ODE also said it will be updating its Care and Connection webpage, a resource to help schools provide a welcoming environment and build relationships with families.
