As schools enter playoff season, the Oregon School Activities Association sent out a reminder Friday on masking requirements for indoor and outdoor events and school spaces.
Student athletes are not required to wear masks while practicing or playing in a competition. They must wear masks on the sidelines.
Spectators aged 5 and older, coaches and staff must wear masks indoors unless eating or drinking.
When outdoors, spectators, coaches and staff must wear masks unless they can maintain 6 feet of distance from people not in their household, except when eating or drinking.
Organizers are responsible for posting the Oregon Health Authority rules and ensuring compliance. Contests can be halted and forfeits assigned if people don’t comply or leave the facility.
