Clackamas candidates needed for open OSBA Board position

Friday, July 24, 2020

OSBA is seeking candidates to fill its Board Position 8, Clackamas Region.

The OSBA board consists of up to 23 directors who are elected every two years on a regional basis. Board members create and promote OSBA programs and policies.

Candidates must apply by 5 p.m. Aug. 12. Applicants do not need to be nominated, and OSBA encourages people of color to apply. Candidates must be on the governing board of a school district, education service district or community college in the Clackamas Region.

The position became open when former OSBA Board President Betty Reynolds resigned to make room for more people of color, according to a column she wrote for the Portland Tribune.

The board will fill the position at a special Aug. 25 meeting, and the person will serve until Dec. 31.

Questions may be directed to OSBA’s Jane Leonhardt at jleonhardt@osba.org.
