OSAA not ready to swap fall and spring sports seasons
Thursday, July 2, 2020
The Oregon School Activities Association offered additional coronavirus guidance Wednesday for summer and fall activities.
An executive board meeting discussed swapping fall and spring sports seasons, but members are not interested in pursuing the concept right now.
Under the most recent guidance, face coverings are not required indoors if they are not feasible for activities such as strenuous exercise or musical performances, provided physical distance of 6 feet is maintained, according to OSAA. Those not involved, such as coaches or athletes on the sidelines, should wear face coverings, OSAA said.
Schools must continue to monitor athletes for signs of COVID-19 prior to workouts and take precautions if someone shows signs or tests positive, OSAA said.
