Colt Gill will join Thursday town hall on disrupted learning
Monday, October 22, 2018
The Oregon Education Association is hosting a series of town halls around the state on how students’ unmet needs are affecting schools. Classrooms are seeing more students who are not ready to learn because of home instability, trauma or mental health issues, and the resulting behaviors can disrupt the learning of everyone in the class.
Oregon Deputy Superintendent of Public Instruction Colt Gill will attend the forum at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, at Marshfield High School in Coos Bay. Gill has convened an advisory committee on safe and effective schools. Visit OEA’s website to reserve a seat or check out the schedule of upcoming town halls.
