Oregon legislative candidate forum tonight in Corvallis
Wednesday, October 3, 2018
A legislative candidate forum focused on health care will be at 7 tonight at the Corvallis-Benton County Public Library. Health care costs will be a key cost-containment issue during the 2019 legislative session, and public school advocates are encouraged to attend the forum.
Candidates for House Districts 15, 16 and 23 and Senate District 8 are invited, and the public will be able to ask questions. Spanish interpretation will be available.
OSBA members have consistently identified revenue reform and cost containment as their top legislative priorities. Executive Director Jim Green said election season provides an important opportunity for education advocates to determine where candidates stand on the need to fund K-12 schools to the Quality Education Model.
“Our students need lawmakers who understand why we should be investing more in young people,” Green said.
