The July 20-22 Bend conference, dubbed “Summer camp for school boards,” will help school board members tackle education issues and lead the change their communities need. OSBA staff and education experts will deliver a variety of sessions, with relevant topics for all school board members.
Presenters include Phil Gore, Leadership Team Services division director for the Texas Association of School Boards, and Krissy LaMont, Leadership Development and Member Services director for the Idaho School Boards Association. Gore and LaMont have insights on picking, training and evaluating superintendents.
Pre-conference sessions include the Administrative Professionals Workshop and The Board’s Role in Disrupting Poverty. William H. Parrett, director of the Center for School Improvement & Policy Studies at Boise State University, will discuss how schools can support success for all students and close the achievement gap.
