OSBA wants student entertainers, workshop proposals for convention

Student performance groups can show off their stuff at OSBA’s 71st annual convention. Groups such as bands, orchestras, choirs and dance and theater groups can apply to perform at general sessions, receptions and meal functions. The convention expects more than 800 people Nov. 9-12 at the Portland Marriott Downtown Waterfront Hotel. Interested groups must apply by May 26(scroll to bottom of convention webpage).
OSBA also wants educators and their institutions to share their knowledge, and OSBA is taking proposals for workshops for superintendents and school board members. The convention will include a special emphasis on lifting Oregon’s high school graduation rate. OSBA is seeking workshops that demonstrate effective methods of helping students finish high school and examples of successful programs and strategies used in Oregon. Proposals must be submitted by May 26.
