Holstedt adds board development to her director position
Peggy Holstedt has been officially named as OSBA's director of Board Development and Policy Services. She has been the organization's director of Policy Services since April 2012. She had also taken on board development responsibilities on an interim basis since May 2013, succeeding Joe Wehrli, who resigned to become superintendent of St. Paul schools.
Holstedt has almost four decades of educational experience (in Wyoming and Oregon) as a classroom teacher in grades 4-12 and administrator at the building, district and state level. Her district and state administrative experience includes federal programs, student services (including health services), curriculum, and human resources. Her educational experience includes both public and private schools.
She began her career as a school nurse for a small rural district. Holstedt earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Oregon Health Sciences University. She holds a master’s degree in health education from the University of Oregon and completed the superintendent licensure program at Portland State University. She is also an avid runner and triathlete.
