OSBA's Labor & Employment Conference comes to you—mark your calendar for February 2012 and register now!

OSBA understands budgets are strained in every corner of the state and bargaining with your local unions is a top priority in most districts, ESDs and community colleges. This year, in recognition of your need for timely and cost-effective bargaining resources, we are again bringing our Labor & Employment Conference to you! Our labor and employment team is conducting six regional conferences across the state. You save time and money by attending a meeting closer to home and get the critical information you need to successfully navigate labor and employment issues this year.

Who

Meetings are targeted for board members, district superintendents, community college presidents, human resource directors and business managers. Whether you are an experienced veteran at the bargaining table or a first-year board member, we will have answers to your questions.

What

We created a full agenda to update you on labor and employment data, trends, best practices and sound advice. We also will have plenty of time for you to ask questions and raise concerns of particular significance to you. Dinner is scheduled from 4 to 5 p.m. and is included in the registration fee. All attendees are welcome to attend all or any portion of the meeting.

Case law updates - review recent legal decisions and their impact
Legislative update - what happened, what's happening and how it all affects labor and employment
Board's role in labor and employment
Regional roundtable - bring your questions! (facilitated discussion of specific labor and employment challenges/opportunities in your region)

Board members attending the 5-8p.m. portion of the conference will satisfy the OSBA Leadership Institute requirement in collective bargaining.
