Renee Sessler provides Iowa Lighthouse training and support to participating Oregon school boards and districts, as well as presentations for OSBA's annual convention and various workshops. Renee's public school board service began in April 1995 when she was appointed to the Reynolds School District Board of Directors and concluded in October 2004. Those 9 1/2 years of local K-12 school board service with time spent as both the chairman and vice chairman, included service on: the OSBA Board of Directors; the OSBA LPC (one year as chairman); the OSBA PACT and Health Insurance Trust, as a delegate to the NSBA Federal Relations Network and other OSBA committees. This experience prepared her well to provide training and support to school boards and districts and why she was hired in 2004 by the Idaho School Boards Association where she served as the association trainer and Associate Executive Director. Now back in Oregon, Renee is thrilled to be a member of the OSBA staff providing services to OSBA member school boards regarding the board's leadership role in increasing student achievement.
